Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, our school started a ukulele program. This program serves students who are Special Education, English Language Learners, and those who never had formal music lessons.
Although we have 36 soprano ukuleles, we do not have protective, padded bags for their instruments so they can take them home to practice, or enough strings to keep the larger ukuleles playing.
We also have students who need to use ukulele picks to help them strum easier due to physical disabilities.
Students love the ukulele classes because it is a perfect class to learn the basics of music. Please help support our music program!
