The boys in the 5th/6th basketball program are very responsible young men who are successful in the classroom. I want them to have the same success and support on the court. Please help me get them new basketballs so that they can feel like professionals on the basketball court.
My school is at a high poverty rate.
The boys need and deserve new basketballs that stay inflated and are easy to grip. Many of them play on several traveling sports teams and costs get very expensive for parents.
My Project
Half of our basketballs for our 5th and 6th grade boys/girls teams have seen their better days! We need 10 basketballs and so that we can become better at playing basketball. Have you ever held a new basketball in your hands? Did it make you feel like Michael Jordan? It's amazing what a new basketball can do for kids!
These new basketballs will help our players build their skills so that they can be successful at basketball.
We need enough equipment for us to effectively teach team sports. Having enough equipment becomes an important part of skill development in team sports because it will allow our students to practice individual skills needed for success. We can then put them into small groups where they can build confidence needed for success during team play. This will help students find their own niche to help motivate life-long fitness and overall health.
