Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing children who have an enthusiasm for learning. Although they come from a low-income area, they never let that stop them from being happy and learning. As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. As a new 3rd grade teacher I am trying to build my classroom library as well as provide manipulatives to help keep them engaged.
My Project
With the books and materials provided to my students, I can create meaningful & memorable lessons for my students. My goal is to get as many books as I can into my students hands. Last year, I personally supplied my students with 8 books to keep as their own. These students were thrilled to have a book to call their own. Many of them do not have many of their own books at home. I think reading is an essential part of learning. This year, I hope to supply my student with many more of their own personal books.
