My Students
My kids come from a place where they have received very limited resources at home, and unfortunately at school too. They are not given the materials that are necessary for them to develop their minds to their full potential. These children are so talented and special, and just need to receive an equitable opportunity that other schools get to reach their full potential.
My students come in every day doubting themselves and what they are capable of; I am working day in and day out to show these kids that they can and will succeed!
My Project
This year, my students come to school at 7:30 in the morning (which is when they get breakfast), and we don't have lunch until 12:15. They are so hungry by the time we go to lunch, it is definitely having an impact on how much they are learning.
Not all of my babies have the resources at home that allow them to bring a snack to school.
These snacks will allow me to feed the students who don't have snack before lunch time. This will allow the kids to learn while not having to suffer from an empty stomach.
