This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Most of my students have a very difficult time reading. I am a Resource Teacher and therefore, all of my students have special educational needs. Having completed a free trial, my students loved and were engaged with the Foundations A-Z online reading program. They enjoyed the game aspect and I enjoyed all of the resources available. This program is aligned with the science of reading, which means that it uses best practices for the most effective reading instruction.
With an annual subscription, this online reading program will be able to reach 36 students who are struggling to read.
Foundations A-Z encourages independent practice for students who often have difficulty working independently. As my students often have learning disabilities, parents often request tools or resources to access at home to support their children; this subscription would allow students to access an effective reading program while at home and would allow parents to provide their children with extra independent practice.
