Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we head into a stressful time of year these items will help my students in two main ways this upcoming school year, motivation, and incentive. I am hoping to both motivate my students to do their best learning and incentivize their behavior in positive ways. I would also like to send them into the New Year with a small holiday gift.

Many of the students I work with respond best to extrinsic motivation.

The prizes will work as positive behavior incentives as part of my classroom management program. These prizes I have asked for are Ring Pops, Fun Dip, and Pop Rocks as well as some fidget toys. These will help my students achieve academic success.

I have also requested snacks such as Rice Krispie Treats, granola bars, and Scooby Snacks for this project. It is well documented that children learn best when their basic needs are met. Many times I have students who arrive late and miss breakfast. We also have a late lunch which means hungry students mid-morning. Having these snacks on hand will help me to ensure my students' needs are met, therefore allowing them to learn their best.

I have also requested a few items to help me craft holiday gifts for my students. Many of my students come from homes that don't have a lot of income for extra holiday gifts. The cups, bookmarks, and vinyl supplies will allow me to create personalized gifts for each of my students.
