My students need 9 geometry resources, including 2 classroom sets of large plastic geometric shapes, a tub of small foam geometric shapes, folding geometric shapes, and activities.

I teach all subjects relating to 2nd grade standards. We are a charter school in a rural area. We have dedicated parents who go to the ends of the world to support their children both economically and emotionally. Recently a lot of parents have been laid off due to the factories closing in the area. I know that my parents would have a hard time financially helping with this need in our classroom, but would appreciate any help that would allow their children to reach their full potential.

Students learn best when they have personal and concrete experiences with the concept that they are learning. This year I would love to give my students the opportunity to fully understand geometric shapes. Each year when I teach shapes I try to expose students through drawing the shapes and other resources available to me, but I would like students to have the opportunity to touch and maneuver shapes in order for them to have an authentic experience with shapes. You can help shape their learning by helping to provide the needed materials.

We need 3D shapes and center activities that reinforce learning about shapes. We need 2 class sets of 3D shapes, a set of foam shapes, a mystery shape game and eggspert classroom game system to reinforce all standards taught in the classroom.

Your help will allow these rural students to grasp firmly to the standards they are charged with meeting by having hands-on, real world experience with their learning.
