My students need a Belkin Secure and Charge Station to securely store our classroom Chromebooks to create art projects and integrate environmental science into our Chemistry class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Chemistry to a diverse group of artistic students at a Title I visual and performing arts school in downtown Los Angeles. Students come to our school from all over the city to our public high school to receive a top notch education in both academics and their chosen art form (music, dance, visual or theater) and go on to study at some of the top academic colleges and art schools across the country. When my students start reading about all of the chemicals they come into contact with every day, they are surprised, curious, and eager to learn more!
I am always looking for ways to motivate my students in my classroom with innovative and exciting learning opportunities.
My Project
I was fortunate enough to receive 12 Chromebooks for my classroom; the effects on student learning has been immediate and long-lasting. However, without proper secure storage, I have realized my Chromebooks will not last very long.
With the Belkin Storage case requested, my Chromebooks can be safety housed in the classroom to protect them from damage and theft.
With the Chromebooks protected, my students will be able to continue to use them in our classroom in a variety of useful ways.
As an arts focused school, the Chromebooks will continue to support my students' integration of art with an environmental focus into our classroom with multimedia projects related to water contamination and designing effective waste management school programs to reading online news articles about alternative energy.
I am also always looking for ways to be environmentally conscious in the classroom. This storage unit allows students to readily use the Chromebooks and can complete and submit group projects using Google Docs, vastly reducing the need for classroom paper.
It is my goal to eventually have a full set of Chromebooks in my classroom, and this storage unit will allow them to be used for many classes to come. Thank you for your consideration.
