I want to grow a nice sounding Concert and Jazz Band here at my school. We have Woodwind and Brass Classes with Percussion mixed in each. Most of my students are brand new to Band. They are very excited to be part of something great to represent our school and create art.
I am the Band Director of a 4-8 Band Program at a lower income school.
Many students have the joy of music, but don't have the resources to participate. I had many students interested, but I'm scared I'll have to turn some away due to the lack of instruments. Can you help us keep their dreams alive?
My Project
With these trumpets, 3-9 students will be afforded the ability to become a musician. The power of music will help them read better, facilitate math through rhythm reading, and give them an outlet for expression while learning about other cultures. They also will learn life skills like cooperation and problem solving and responsibility.
These Instruments will give 3-9 students an opportunity to learn music and hopefully continue on to become great people and who knows - the next Louie Armstrong!
It will give them a sense of accomplishment, help them become better students, and give them more opportunities for college and possibly a career.
