This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will help fund an after school gardening club in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego. The students involved have chosen to join this club because they have a passion for learning, hands-on experiences, and a love for their community. Since the pandemic, our garden has unfortunately lost the attention it needs in order to be the relaxing oasis our students deserve. Also, as their science teacher, I will be incorporating the garden in life science and engineering lessons for all my students. The garden beds will also be used to grow food for our class bunny as well as provide produce for a student-led farmer's market in the future.
