My Students

I currently work at a elementary school that has 100% active military families. It is an extremely unique school setting since so many students are in constant transition and have a great deal of educational, social, and personal needs.

My Special Need students have the capability to learn, progress and succeed like any other student.

These students persevere and have a willingness to succeed despite their learning differences. They learn to adapt and compensate using strategies they have been taught.

My Project

I am constantly trying to evolve and create ways for my students to have the best learning environment for academic success.

Several ways for my students to gain and progress academically/socially is to have additional flexible seating (wobble cushions and stools) within my classroom.

This helps provide them an opportunity to choose the seating that will help them focus and gain access to the curriculum especially with attention difficulties.

I am also requesting headphones for their computers. My students read/listen to books, take online assessments. They need headphones that work so they get the best learning opportunities on the computer.
