My Project
I would like to provide my students with chairs so that when they are feeling overwhelmed or noises are stressing them they will have a way to relax in a comfortable seat to help them calm themselves.
The seats will be used to help students focus.
Students with autism have many sensory needs and require supports and strategies to help them calm and remain focused. I would like to provide them with seats as a way to help them calm when they are in need. The seats will also help them remain focused by providing calming areas when they are overwhelmed.
I would also like to provide my students with visual timers to help with their work completion. Students with autism often need a visual timer to help them remain focused and on task. The swivel chair will help provide sensory input for the students to help them focus when they are feeling overwhelmed.
