This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am excited to be teaching Special Education and working with students who have such diversified needs in reading, writing and math. My classroom is very welcoming but it is lacking in many activities for the subjects that I teach. When working with elementary students, they often need activities that go beyond paper and pencil. For literacy, I would love to have fun ways of teaching letter and sound recognition, letter formation, CVC words, consonant combination words, and sentence building activities. For math, we would benefit from having ten frames for basic addition and subtraction, manipulatives and a variety of math games to keep the students engaged in the math skills that they are learning.
With your help, I can offer a variety of lessons to provide enrichment in order to pique my students' interests and help make them enthusiastic learners.
