My Project

Imagine a classroom where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Where the stories they read reflect their own experiences, struggles, and dreams, and where they are introduced to diverse perspectives that broaden their worldviews. This is the kind of classroom we want to create – a space where literature isn’t just a subject but a bridge to empathy, understanding, and inspiration.

Our high school students deserve books that not only meet educational standards but also resonate with their lives, their cultures, and their communities.

Unfortunately, many of the novels available to them are outdated, lack diversity, and don’t reflect the wide range of experiences that make our classroom unique.

We need your help to bring culturally relevant novels to our students — stories that speak to their identities, reflect their lived realities, and challenge them to think critically about the world around them.
