My Students
I teach in a charter high school as an education specialist working with high schoolers with mild to moderate disabilities. The students I teach are on a certificate of completion track. We focus on a lot of functional academics such as money math skills, workability, and do a lot of community-based instruction.
I strive to make my classroom one that is accepting and welcoming at all, and pushes my students to unlock their potential.
I create a lot of my own lessons that are geared towards my students’ interests and are age-appropriate and match my student's skills sets. Since I will be moving to a new classroom I am in need of some more curriculum and supplies to get things set up.
My Project
I am trying to procure materials, manipulatives, and decorations to help enhance my classroom. I want my room to be a place where students feel safe and welcome and encouraged to work to their full potential and be challenged.
The curriculum books will help teach my students some of the important functional academic skills that they need in order to be successful.
My goal is to enable my students to be ready for life after high school and to enter the real world.
