Help Provide a Carpet For a Busy Counseling Office
Help me give my students a carpet to sit on when they come to my office for groups or to practice self-regulation skills!

My Students
My students are all inner-city youth; our elementary school is located in the middle of subsidized housing. All of the students qualify for both free breakfast and lunch. Many stay at school for free dinner and the after school programming.
Most of my students love coming to school because they feel loved, safe, and comfortable at school.
For some, school is the only place they feel safe and loved. However, with COVID, my students have learned remotely this school year.
I have my fingers crossed that with access to vaccines, the students will be back in person soon!
My Project
My students come into the building every morning with excitement and zeal in their eyes. Sometimes life throws us some curve balls. When those moments come for my students, I am there to support them through their emotional growth.
Having a carpet in the counseling office will give my younger students a place to sit comfortably to play or to engage in a therapeutic group.
This carpet matches our school theme! I was so excited to see a carpet that had an ocean theme. I am sure that my students will be equally as excited to see the sea animals on the rug!
