My Students

My students come to my classroom with a variety of interests, reading levels, and language abilities.

I teach fourth grade at a very diverse school on the north side of Chicago.

Many of the students receive free or reduced lunch. This year, all of my students speak Spanish as their native language. I provide my students with English language as well as native language learning support. Students come to school excited and eager to learn. I am proud to be a part of a highly dedicated faculty that works to improve the lives of all students through education and offer a safe, warm, and welcoming environment in which they can learn.

My Project

My students and the students of Ms. Z., a colleague who teaches third grade ESL, all use an online literacy program daily using the iPads. These are valuable tools in the classroom that we use to support their literacy growth as well as enrich other content areas such as mathematics, science, and social studies. We need to protect the iPads with cases to ensure that we will continue to have access to such needed technology in the classroom.

These iPad cases will ensure that our technology will be protected and used frequently, without fear of them being damaged by the youngsters who are so motivated to learn with them.

With your help, the cases will guarantee that future classes will also be able to interact with our technology resources.
