This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a bilingual program where they learn in Spanish and English. Many of them are immigrants or come from recent immigrant families making it more meaningful to maintain their native language. They love coming to school and are eager to learn and work together. My students are very curious and enjoy asking questions and exploring new materials and ideas.

For many of my students, this is their first time in school, and they are excited about the new things they learn every day.

My Project

As our preschoolers prepare a return to the classroom, they will be learning how to take care of classroom materials. In order to maintain a clean and safe learning environment, we will be giving each student their own supplies and individual manipulatives to use throughout the year. This way, they avoid sharing materials and stay safe while learning.

We need your help to make our classroom a safe and organized place for our preschoolers to learn and practice being responsible for their materials.

The 24 drawer unit will be used to place their small counters. We will place their picture on each drawer, so they know which ones belong to them when it's time to use them during our small group time. The shoe boxes will also be labeled with their name and picture, and that will be storing their school supplies like markers, crayons, dry erase markers, extra masks, etc. Having the mesh bags with the labels on them will help them keep their materials organized and only take out what they need.

We know that these storage supplies will help our students stay organized and learn to be responsible as they return to the classroom. We hope you can support our project and share this project with others who wish to support our preschool classroom.
