Help Pique Reading Interest and Give Choice Time Options
Help me give my students some exciting new series books and choice time options. My students can learn to code using the iPad Robot during choice time.

My Students
My class is a creative bunch of 2nd Graders! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many students struggle to have the stamina to get through the day. I have some students who need additional support emotionally than in a typical year.
My students love to discuss history and social justice.
Since I am new to 2nd Grade, one goal I have is to develop a stellar class library with many diverse literature options for them.
My Project
My students are second graders who have many interests around technology and reading. I would like to give them additional beginning chapter books to choose from to add to my class library. There are fidgets and a robot on this list to pique student focus and interest.
The books I chose for this project feature diverse intriguing characters.
My students have heard a couple of these series books (from Molly Mac & Anna Hibiscus) and have begged to have more in our classroom for them to check out!
I will use the fidgets to assist my students who have attention and focus needs. The robot can be used as an incentive for these students to show increased stamina throughout academic time. My students are interested in coding and have requested this item!
