Help Our Young Scientists Discover and Explore Our Natural World!
My students need access to building materials to explore earth science energy concepts. Handheld microscopes and garden tools will also give access to exploring the life and physical sciences taught.
Upon entering our science lab you will see our students are encouraged to push themselves, to think creatively, and to learn from their peers. Our science lab is an interactive space which allows students explore scientific concepts and ask questions about the world around them.
I have over 600 wonderfully bright, curious students who thrive best in a environment centered on innovation, creative thinking, hands on experiences.
My students bring a wealth of cultural experience to the classroom. We have a diverse group of students represented by variety of cultural and learning differences which provides great discussions and discovery.
My mission is to provide a rich, stimulating learning environment where academic excellence and individual differences are valued and encouraged. I have a fervent desire to provide a learning environment that is conducive to developing the unique intellectual, social, physical and emotional potential of each student. Students in my classroom are encouraged to work together and build upon inquiry questions and the ideas of those around them. We are a collaborative and cooperative bunch of learners in our room!
My Project
Our scientists love the opportunity to build and observe energy in motion. We will utilize the earthquake shake table for a variety of lab activities including ideas in the Rosie Revere book of build projects.
Our students thrive in working in our school garden.
Gloves are needed for students to explore in the space. A wheelbarrow and rake are necessary pieces of equipment that our current space is lacking. These tools will give us access to move soil and compost around in the space. Our garden curriculum highlights the relationship between producers and decomposes and brings about an environmental awareness within our school community.
Having access to hand microscopes will allow our students to see first hand the intricacies within the systems we teach. We can use these microscopes during our observation and dissection lessons. These devices will provide learning for years to come and will no doubt be a lab favorite for our students!
