My students are bright young students who would benefit from the increase in resources to help bolster their writing skills and their ability to use research resources.
I teach at a non title I school near a major university.
My students have parents who are professors and parents who work in the fast food industry. I have 23 precious students who are willing to work hard to increase their learning. I am a first year teacher who is does not have very many resources to help foster their learning.
My Project
The students will be using the dictionaries and Chinese-English dictionaries to help their writing skills and to help with their word skills. We will also work on our dictionary skills by having competitions (speed racing) and by learning what every entry under each word means. We will also use the thesaurus to elaborate and enrich their writing.
It will make my classroom a more information rich environment so that the students will have the resources that they need to succeed in the classroom and in life.
It will also help my ESOL students to bridge the language gap between them and their fellow native English speaking students.
