My Project
Helping put creative filmmaking tools into the hands of my students is one of my greatest priorities. Through the support of our families and community, our students' ability to create, communicate and collaborate with media has improved substantially in the past few years. But we still have a ways to go…. our filmmakers work together to share their stories but need access to a wireless video system, to create their own 'video village.' Video village is the hub of collaboration and creation on a set - it allows the director, producers, cinematographer, and all student filmmakers to review their work being created.
At the end of the day, student filmmakers need the right tools to do the job - and the direct, positive impact of professional film tools on the quality of student production work cannot be overstated.
A wireless video feed is a key feature of film sets - it provides an opportunity for every student to actively monitor what the camera is capturing. Most importantly, a wireless transmitter/receiver system ensures that during our classwork and field work, we eliminate long electrical cords that pose tripping hazards for our students. Monitoring our cameras with the Teradek Bolk 6 ensures a stable video connection, provides camera operators flexibility of movement, and gives student crews the freedom to work safely while reviewing the work they contribute to their film collaborations.
