My Project

Helping put filmmaking tools into the hands of my students is one of my greatest priorities. Through support of our families and community, our students' ability to create, communicate and collaborate with media has improved considerably the past few years. But we still have far to go…. our filmmakers need access to modern LED lighting technology for shaping the visual narrative, mood, and aesthetic of their films. Replacing outdated tungsten lights with user-friendly LEDs ensures students work safely with lights that consume less power, and don’t burn hot.

At the end of the day, students need the right tools to do the job - and the direct impact of professional film production tools on the quality of student production work cannot be overstated.

The Aputure Light Storm LS and MC Pro LEDs are lightweight, efficient, and versatile to meet modern demands of film and tv productions. Their ability to attach to small softboxes, make them perfect for hair and backlighting in documentary interviews, and a battery powered option eliminates cords that pose trip hazards. As accent lights, they assist in bringing out details - highlighting specific areas, creating visual interest, and guiding the audience's attention to what's most important in the scene. Help our students in their pursuit of 'cinematic' images for their award-winning short films and documentaries.
