My students need Chromebooks to take them beyond the walls of our classroom as we study and read about different countries, communities, and cultures.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I have the privilege to teach and mentor is from a low-income community in Staten Island, NY. My students are receiving special education services. The students are smart and excel in their academics using technology.
I want to help equip them with the resources they need to make this year a success for all of them.
Despite the economic and social challenges they face at home, our school and classrooms are set up to give the students the best educational experience possible.
My Project
The Chromebooks we are requesting will help the students access online learning content and will help the students declutter their classroom by making 90% of their assignments available on their Chromebooks. Exposure to technology will give our students an opportunity to decrease the learning gap they experience with students from higher income communities by exposing them to learning based technology.
Technology is something our students are interested in, and it is our goal to design lesson plans that incorporate technology and the use of the Chromebooks.
The students will be able to use the Chromebooks to complete assignments, conduct research, and explore the world at their fingertips.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
