My Project
I have the privilege of working with some of the most incredible students as a school social worker at San Luis High School. They’re curious, resilient, and full of potential—each one brings something special to our school every day. What I love most is their honesty and how they’re always eager to grow. But sometimes, those big feelings can make it hard for them to focus or feel at ease in the classroom.
That’s where this project comes in!
I’m requesting a set of SEL fidgets—tools like stress balls, fidget spinners, and sensory rings—to help my students self-regulate and find calm when they need it most. These fidgets aren’t just toys, they’re a lifeline for students learning to manage anxiety, frustration, or overwhelm. With these resources, they’ll have a tangible way to channel their energy, refocus, and engage in their learning.
For example, a stress ball can give a student a quiet way to release tension during a tough moment, while a sensory ring can help another stay grounded during a group activity. These small tools will make a big difference, empowering my students to build emotional resilience and thrive.
