This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help our students create designs with jammin tunes and dynamic sound effects.

We are a middle school drama / speech department serving grades 6 - 8.

Our title I school district is in a high-risk community where most students are minority and low-income. Though our students struggle at times to succeed; they are passionate, imaginative kids who deserve the chance to experience a creative learning environment. In 8th grade, theater students learn public speaking, problem-solving, artistic, and teamwork skills by mounting 10-minute plays at the end of a 9 week class. The students create designs (SOUND, lights, set, etc.) for their plays.

My Project

Right now, we use an older computer that I brought from home. We have some music and sound effects on it that the students use to make their designs. Unfortunately, it is slowly breaking. We have to frequently restart. I am afraid that it will soon crash and we will lose all of our work.

If we had a new computer, neoprene sleeve, and a case to protect it, the students could protect and continue to work on their amazing designs.
