My Students
Hello Generous Donors,
I am a first grade teacher at a school that is located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
My classroom is both Special Education and ESOL friendly, I teach a group of twenty-four enthusiastic learners. Many of my students come from low income families and they are unable to contribute many of the basic supplies that are needed in our classroom. While the neighborhood may be in crisis, our students are resilient and with some help, they will thrive!
Everyday my students come into the classroom eager to learn. My classroom has been created as a safe place for all of my students, they have all of the supplies that they need and some snacks to get through the day.
Thank you for your generosity.
My Project
Your generous donation will help to provide the supplies that we will need to get through the harsh winter. Kleenex tissues, Scott paper towels, and Lysol Disinfecting Wipes for their desks are essential to help stop the spreading of germs. The Pepperidge Farm Crackers will help the students get through the long day since we have an early lunch and they tend to lose focus mid-afternoon.
In my classroom, I have found that using games is a great way to keep my students engaged during our time in their Centers.
The Phonemic Awareness Magnetic Activity Tins and What's the Sound? Word Sliders games I am requesting will reinforce the skills that they are learning daily. Paper is something that I am in constant need of! I have already used over a case of paper copying homework, classwork, and various correspondences that get sent home with my students. I know that there will be many more copies that will be made before the end of the school year. I'm asking for a ream of Hammermill copy paper.
One of the many things we do in our classroom is coloring! Many of my students are often coming up to me and asking if I have any crayons that would match their skin tone, your donation will provide my multicultural students crayons that will allow them to draw and color pictures that they can identify with.
Your donations will be greatly appreciated by both me and my students.
