Help Our Pre-K Stars Shine with Literacy Fun!
Emergent Literacy skills are the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning.
With the materials we’ve selected, our pre-kindergarteners will have hands-on, engaging tools to explore the magic of language in creative and meaningful ways.
The alphabet anchor chart will serve as a daily visual reminder of letter names and sounds, helping students connect letters to words they see and hear in their environment. The alphabet magnetic design center encourages fine motor development and tactile exploration, as children build letters and words with their hands. Similarly, the alphabet stones provide a multi-sensory approach to learning letters, sparking curiosity as children trace and manipulate them during outdoor play.
With digraph games, we’ll introduce early phonics concepts, helping some students recognize common letter combinations like “ch” and “sh.” These games transform challenging concepts into exciting, playful experiences that reinforce learning through repetition and fun. The alphabet sound tubs offer a treasure trove of items that bring letters to life, enabling children to associate letter sounds with real world objects a crucial step in phonemic awareness.
To foster a love of reading at home, book baggie pouches will allow students to transport books and activities, creating a bridge between school and home literacy practices. Finally, the chef’s hats will add an imaginative twist to cooking-themed literacy games, where students will “whip up” letters, sounds, and words, blending learning with creativity.
