My students need 2 Bass Xylophone stands and 1 Alto Xylophone stand so that they don't have to sit on the floor, hunched over their instruments while making music.

My Students

Just as there can be no music without learning, no education is complete without music (MENC 1991, xiii). My students work extremely hard during the school day to learn a variety of subjects and included in these is music. My students love music and I want to give them the opportunity to succeed.

My students are young musicians who aspire to become better.

In order to help my students become the best musicians they can be, I am looking to update my classroom to accommodate each and every student. They inspire me to become a better music teacher by their yearning for musical knowledge. In turn, I'd like to continue to inspire them to become better musicians! We don't always get a lot of support for music due to budget cuts and hard economic times. But budget cuts and hard economic times should not mean that their quality music education should suffer. My students are in love with music. They crave musical opportunities and I intend to help them succeed as musicians!

My Project

The students use instruments almost every time they enter the music room. One of the most important things about playing a musical instrument is to have correct posture. If the student does not have the correct posture, they will no play correctly. In order to help them with correct posture, I am hoping to gather a collection of stands for our Orff Xylophones, Metallophones, and Glockenspiels. Without the stands, the students sit on the floor, hunched over their instruments. With the addition of the stands, the students will be able to use correct posture and make beautiful music together.

This will improve my classroom because it will help my students make beautiful music.

They love to make music by using the Orff instruments. To play, it is vital to have great posture. It helps with intonation, proper technique, and beautiful sounds. Having these stands will be a great way to help them remember to use correct posture which will improve their musicality and will help them create beautiful music!
