This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a low-income area that has a great community with lots of support. They work hard for themselves and for their families. Many live in situations where they are in one home with over four families living together, yet they come to school every day ready to learn and grow.
Our school does as much as it can to help and assist the families of our students and we strive to make a better future for them to live in.
My Project
Our school has a new soccer team this year being run by our PE coach, and they need some supplies to help them practice! They don't have a large budget and tend to use soccer balls that the students have brought from home, but many of these are very old and don't keep air for very long. They also don't have a soccer goal, which makes it difficult to practice for matches against other schools since they haven't been able to practice with an actual goal. These supplies would really help inspire them to keep trying and improving themselves as athletes and students!
