Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in our school are mostly newly arrived migrants. They are full of enthusiasm for learning, for this city and for this country. But many of them are mourning the loss of their homes. They are processing the difficult and often traumatic journeys they took to arrive here. And they are adjusting to a new culture.

Through a podcast featuring their stories and voices, they can process this complicated experience, they can connect with each other and they can create something that honors both the past and the present.

The MXL Condenser Microphones will allow them to be heard, and the Zoom PodTrak P4 Podcast Recorder will allow them to document their experiences.

The students will use the recording equipment to interview each other. They will develop narratives and their capacity for empathy and curiosity. Together, they will document and process their unique and shared experiences.
