My Project
My students are energetic, curious, and full of rhythm. They come from a rural, underfunded community where music class is often the highlight of their day. Despite limited resources, they consistently rise to the challenge, using their creativity and teamwork to make music that brings joy to our whole school.
Adding a set of tunable 10", 12", and 14" tubano drums will transform how we learn rhythm, culture, and ensemble skills.
These drums are accessible to players of all sizes and allow for deep, rich sound exploration. With tunable heads, we can teach tone quality, pitch comparison, and care for instruments—skills that align with national music standards. Students will engage in ensemble drumming, call-and-response games, and improvisation activities that boost coordination, listening, and cultural awareness.
My goal is to create a learning environment where every student can feel the beat, lead with confidence, and collaborate musically. These drums will be used across grade levels, making a lasting impact on students who deserve the same quality music education as anyone else.
