This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am reaching out on behalf of my enthusiastic group of third-grade emergent bilingual students, who are eager to build their English skills through engaging, age-appropriate non-fiction texts. We are currently seeking support to add the Dan Gutman “My Weird School Fast Facts” non-fiction book series to our classroom library.
These books are an ideal match for our learners — full of fun facts, humor, and accessible language that supports vocabulary development and content knowledge across subjects.
By reading texts like My Weird School Fast Facts: Sports, Explorers, Dinosaurs, and more, our students will gain not only language skills but also the confidence and curiosity to explore the world around them.
Your support would make a real difference in helping our students develop a love for reading, expand their academic vocabulary, and succeed in English and beyond. Any contribution toward this book set will directly impact young learners striving to grow and thrive.
Thank you for considering our classroom and helping us nurture a love of learning!
