This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is an upper-grade Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom. In our class students with disabilities who receive Integrated Co-Teaching services are educated with age-appropriate peers in the general education classroom.
My students are diverse, bright, and brimming with potential.
They are excited about learning, but many of them have fallen far behind and learning does not always come easy for them. An increased need for repetition makes new content difficult to access. A read-aloud, sideshow, and worksheet are rarely engaging enough to make the content stick.
My Project
My project is all about providing resources for my students to learn according to their needs. I am requesting flexible seating, dry erase pockets, and math and literacy activities.
Having flexible seating options allows for students to be more comfortable and work collaboratively with others.
With flexible seating arrangements, students can work in groups during reading, writing, and math. These resources will allow students to become more engaged in their learning and the learning process. Creating learning stations where students can escape and work independently and actively engage in hands-on activities through my lessons. Students learn best when they have a choice and have an equitable learning experience.
