My Students

My incoming 1st graders are so excited to come back to school! Although it is not the "normal" start of the school year, I am trying my very best to provide them with an engaging, rigorous and memorable school year.

Research shows that hands-on activities allows for students to engage in kinesthetic learning allowing them to experiment with trial and error, learn from their mistakes and correct their misunderstandings.

Because we are starting off the school year with distance learning, it is crucial that my students are still able to engage in hands-on activities while at home. With your support, we can do that!

My Project

These materials will allow my students to experience learning through hands-on activities. These activities will reinforce the lessons I will be teaching. My students will be able to use unifix cubes to help with their addition and subtraction. They will be using counters to help with forming 10 frames, as they begin to add and subtract with double digits. Daily my students will be using the whiteboards and markers to help with letter formation, sentence structure and sight words. The play-doh will be used as a way to study their sight words for the week.

Hands-on tools make learning much more engaging rather than just pencil and paper.

I hope to provide all my students with the necessary materials to participate in meaningful and engaging activities. With your help, my students will have all the tools they need to succeed and achieve academic success!
