This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school where there are many children who live under the poverty level. I love my second grade students! September is one of my favorite months when I get to see all their bright, and shiny faces. A new promise of a new year. First, thing I tell my students is that we are a family and we will work together to help each other be the best we can be. All my past students always come to see me. I am so proud of them all.

I teach math, science, and social studies to 60 students.

This year has been a very difficult year for parents and students. Students need the social and emotional components that schools provide. With so many uncertainties and with so many parents who may have not been able to work or find employment students need supplies more than ever.

During remote learning many of students did not have pencils, paper, construction paper, and crayons. The basic supplies needed to help students learn. They were frustrated and sad. I tried to help them in anyway I could.

My Project

HI everyone, thank you for your time and possible donations. The items that are in my cart are supplies that students will need to use in the classroom and at home. Due to COVID many parents will not be able to purchase supplies for their children. This past year was very difficult teaching remotely because students didn't have the supplies at home that they needed. They complained of not having notebooks, pencils, rulers, white boards to complete and show they work remotely. I am hoping, with the proper supplies it will help enhance their learning.

The use of whiteboards and dry erase markers is almost a daily activity in my classroom and if teaching remotely.

Using the workshop model in math, students use the whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work.

In addition, I am asking for basic materials like notebooks, crayons, pencils, folders, and glue sticks. All these materials are essential for the classroom and remote learning.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
