This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
For the past five years I have coached the cheerleading team with my good friend and colleague. Together we work with students in grades 3-5 on sportsmanship, character education, cooperation, dance, tumbling, and stunting.
The student-athletes I work with are from an urban setting and they come from diverse backgrounds.
Many of the athletes speak more than one language and have lived in other countries besides the United States. The cheerleading team is often the first experience the children have being on a competitive team.
My Project
All items from this project will be used at our next cheerleading competition on May 3, 2020.
Cheerleaders on the Ridgewood Rattlers cheer team need bows, socks and a wireless speaker for their next cheerleading competition!
The accessories will complete our uniforms and the speaker will be used to practice during mat time.
At our last competition the Ridgewood Rattlers won second place. Our team has been working hard to receive another trophy for our efforts! We look forward to performing for our community and families. Help us sparkle by funding this project! We thank you so much for your continued support.
