This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I see the many challenges my students face both in and out of the classroom. As a teacher in a school with a large population of bilingual learners, I strive to connect all students through providing them the opportunity to be apart of the cheer team!
This project will provide shoes and socks for students on our growing cheer team so they can have the right gear to make sure they can cheer and perform safely at schools basketball games and school wide events!
In this project, I am asking for cheer sneakers and socks. Our schools cheer season has just begun and we are beginning to start learning stunts and tumbling. Not all our cheerleaders have access to cheer shoes and socks and through this project I am looking to provide our school with a supply of shoes that can help support the students current needs and the needs of students in years to come. These shoes are important for a cheerleader because when doing stunts, jumps and tumbling they need to make sure they have the proper footwear to not get hurt. By donating to this project you will help students have the ability to perform to their highest potential!
As a school with a very diverse population we have worked hard providing them a culturally responsive arts education with our in school classes and after school activities. I have been working with all of my students to provide them with a space to create, express and explore their personal interests and identities. By donating to this project you are helping our school continue to provide the best arts educations for our students!
