This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Title I school, which is considered highest poverty, our students are in need of many tools to help them develop an Audio Video club with the goal of creating a newscast team.

Not only are we a Title 1 school with many of our students from low-income backgrounds, these students have very little up to date technology for any type of video project.

Having the equipment for our students to create video projects will allow us to document the many activities we try to run in our school as well as a chance to express themselves in the language of a 21st century school.

My Project

Our students are looking to start an Audio Video club with the hopes of being able to broadcast news to their fellow students about school functions.

Due to the limited resources our school has, we are in need of a number of materials to make the AV club's dream of bringing the news a reality.

With the requested camera and tripod the AV club will be able to video the various events we will have in the school, as well as take photos for the yearbook and newsletter they want to create. Using the Chromebook the students will be able to edit the photos and videos then be able to post the items onto the school website. The micro SD cards will enable to students to back up their work and transfer photos and video between the Chromebook and camera. The LED display (along with the video cord and speakers) will be used as an extended display for the Chromebook so that students can edit photos and videos using a larger screen. These materials will allow my students to communicate their thoughts and ideas to their community, their fellow students and future students yet to come!
