Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are inquisitive and creative! They are constantly asking questions while exploring the classroom and the world around them. However due to remote learning caused by the pandemic we have noticed that several of our students are grade levels behind. In an effort to support their learning, we are hoping to fill our libraries with books that grab their interest while still challenging them cognitively.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by increasing their comprehension. With these books our scholars will want to read in school and at home and want to share their reading experiences with others. This will also impact their ability to respond to comprehension questions as well as answer text related questions in and outside of the classroom. The scarcity within our libraries have not allowed our scholars to engage in conversations related to text because they aren't relatable or interesting. Please help us help them. Thanks!
