This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students range in age from 7-10 years old with a varity of intellectual and emotion disabilities and are all in a self-contained LifeSkills class. They love coming to school, seeing their friends, learning, and playing! As different as they all are, they are also just like everyone else in doing what they love.
We prepare them in class today for everything they need to know to go on and be successful in life.
They will use their lessons from this year to set the foundation for when they start transitioning to middle school, high school, and beyond.
Many of the students here have dreams and goals of living on their own as adults and having their own families. We are here to start them on that journey!
My Project
It is essential for my students to learn organizational skills.
Organizational skills directly impact a student's ability to thrive and be successful in school.
These items will help our Life Skills class be set up to allow the students be comfortable and have a safe learning environment. Help me get our Life (Skills Class) Organized. With different types of materials, my students will be able to not only organize work, but also find the types of organization type that works best for them. The materials will also allow me, their teacher, to be organized and allow me to be the best teacher for my students.
