This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I am an elementary school teacher at P.S.169 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. My school is a Title 1 school, with children representing over 9 countries around the world! We are a large school, holding over 1,000 students.
I am coming up on my ninth year of teaching, yet with each new school year comes new challenges! This coming September I will be moving my classroom from second to third grade. The classroom I will be moving to has no desks, only tables! This leaves no room for children's notebooks, folders, pencils, etc.
Each child needs a space to hold their personal belongings, yet the room is not large enough to hold a new piece of furniture. Office Depot sells plastic files that are large enough to hold students' folders, notebooks, etc. yet are compact enough to fit into shelving I already have. These plastic files would help my students and I organize our classroom.
Thank you for your consideration.
