Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a wonderfully diverse population representing over 20 countries around the world. All of our students are newcomers who are learning English and celebrating pride is an exciting opportunity for them. We have a small, dedicated group of students who attend weekly LGBTQ+ club meetings and Pride Day at our school is an opportunity to affirm these identities as a whole school. In a school that is located one mile away from the site of the beginning of pride, students will benefit from learning about the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement in the neighborhood. Thank you for helping us provide students with the materials to celebrate and learn about Pride!
