My students need camera equipment to record their dance, film, and theater projects to submit to colleges in a portfolio. Unfortunately, they currently use phone cameras which do not have the sound and video quality needed. Please assist me in acquiring a camera that my students can use to film their work and create a portfolio to submit to colleges.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our high school is a college-preparatory school that seeks to develop the deeper character and unique potential of each student.
Not only do our graduates leave with the academic tools to succeed in college, but they leave with a new sense of self that drives them to be their best.
In order to draw out true leadership, students are challenged with new experiences. In addition, a social justice theme is infused throughout our entire curriculum. We are committed to developing individuals who will become agents of positive social change and who will actively create a more equitable society.
Our Class of 2016 includes 3 nationally-ranked scholars, including a Gates Millennium Scholar, Posse Scholar, and U.S. Presidential Scholar Nominee!
My Project
My students have all the talent in the world and none of the materials needed to translate that talent to college success. Students who are proficient in the arts: especially dance, theater, and film do not have access to the technology needed to create a portfolio to submit to colleges. I want to change that with your help! Please assist me in acquiring a camera that my students can use to film their work and create a portfolio to submit to colleges. Allow my students to be competitive with their more affluent peers and access their dreams in higher ed!
