My school serves approximately 220 students, ranging in age 5 to 21. We are a public separate school, with students that are certified as trainable mentally disabled, severe/profound mentally disabled, multi-disabled, autistic, and other health impaired. My class is certified as a High School/Transition autistic class with seven students. Some of my students are non-verbal, and all have fine-motor problems.
My students have great difficulty using their hands, i.e., picking up a pencil, zipping their jacket, picking up a piece of a puzzle, and opening a carton of milk.
They need two sound puzzle sets. These puzzles have a red peg to assist students in picking up the pieces. The sound of these puzzles would also create and keep their interest in picking up the pieces of the puzzles, which will help their fine motor skills.
Your donation of two sound puzzle sets will make it possible for my students to practice and reinforce their fine motor skills.
