This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.

In my bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects, including reading, writing, math, and science.

My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.

My Project

In first grade, it's expected for all of the students to master many state objectives. First graders need to be exposed to different types of learning such as listening.

They need to listen to someone read in order to assist them in their reading fluency and comprehension.

They have the option to listen to stories on an iPad or a laptop. My students need headphones to listen to these stories and also they will not interrupt the other students. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have headphones. Therefore, it will greatly benefit my students if they receive this set of headphones. They will be able to use the headphones while they listen to stories in reading, science, social studies, and math.
