My students need transportation to compete in their first Regional theater arts play festival!

My multi-talented, incredible theater arts students have never had the opportunity to perform in a play competition and boy are they excited and ready! I joined the faculty at my high school last year where I had close to sixty students per show working onstage and backstage with our Fall play, "Our Town" and Spring musical "The Music Man". Another first last year was the theater students were the Marquee feature story in the local paper, they were in the spotlight on two DONATED highway billboards and, as a school, we were invited to join the very prestigious International Thespian Society with ten students who joined as lifetime members.
I teach at a Title I High School in North Carolina where several of my students come from low income, single family homes and 100% percent of the student body receives free breakfast and lunch.
Taking our Fall production, "Little Women" to the Regional festival competition will give a chance to students who find not only a love in the theater, but a challenge to be a part of something really great!
At the competition, students will have the opportunity to build their confidence and voice by performing their show which is completely student run and designed.
The immediate need for my students to attend the Regionals festival is to rent an activity bus to transport the children, a driver to safely transport the children and a small Uhaul truck to transport our sets and props. We've already paid the festival registration fee through fundraisers, as well as the play licensing fee to legally perform "Little Women". They are so excited to meet students at other high schools who love the theater as they do and get the chance to perform, as well as watch peer performances. They will have an adjudicator who will give them constructive feedback and, once they've performed, they will announce the award winners in which my students may qualify to go to State Competition!
Please help us get our "Wheels" in motion to help these kids shine in their spotlight and be proud to compete in their first ever theater competition. It's a day that won't ever forget.
