This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.

In my bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects, including reading, writing, math and science.

My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.

My Project

In three weeks my students will return to school. This school year will be completely different due to COVID-19. Therefore, it will be necessary for my students to frequently disinfect their desks and wash their hands.

My first graders will constantly need disinfecting supplies in order to stay healthy.

The disinfectant wipes will be used to clean their desks. They will also need the automatic soap dispensers and batteries. Since the soap dispenser is automatic they won't contaminate it and it will prevent transmission of the virus. The Dawn soap will be used on the soap dispenser in order for my students to frequently wash their hands throughout the day.
