Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a middle school music teacher in an inner-city school, and I teach students from 6th to 8th grade. Most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background in an area infected with gangs and drugs. Many of my students, mostly poor, tell me that music class is the reason they stay in school.
The students thrive in technology, and it is my hope that they will have this opportunity to create and design audio projects with the current equipment found in today’s modern recording studios.
I am actively meeting with my students online through Zoom. I have several distance learning projects engaging with students to improve their audio and video editing skills.
My Project
My students have been limited in their studio learning environment by not having recording equipment to use during this time of distance learning. They will be able to creatively mix their projects with these wonderful audio tools.
My students are very excited about this possibility and how it will progress their learning environment.
These recording projects give my students real-world, hands-on experience in the A/V production field and offer creative exploration in the music industry.
