This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful group of 2nd grade students. Many of my students come from middle-low socio-economic backgrounds and the majority of them are second language learners. Some students are working below grade level in reading and math. My hope is through these materials, we can bridge the gaps and increase the learning.
In addition, I would like to do more hands-on and exploration center activities with my students.
Students enjoy working independently on their skills and learning. Students can use peer groups and college and career readiness skills like responsibility, effort, and focus to gain knowledge.
My Project
These learning tools will help my second graders to love learning and become fluent readers and mathematicians!
Students will use these magnetic letters to work on the fluency of high frequency words which will help them become better readers.
I want them to have alternatives to learning words than just memorizing and paper and pencil. Magnetic letters and alphabet dough stampers will help my students with engaging options for words study.
Learning in small groups allows students a fun way to learn. Centers provide students with opportunities to develop rich age- appropriate conversations and problem solving skills. My students and I appreciate your support.
